Believe it!

Just touching on a few things and its not any kind of display on my part toward those people who lead any type of lifestyle that they feel makes them any more healthy than another but here is what i experienced not so long ago in the grocery store...
I have a large grocery store that i am dedicated to as i am sure alot of people do. My first visit when i go there is the vegetable and fruit isle. I am a firm believer in lots of fruit and vegetable consumption and i Personally feel it is best for me..I also have a great meat supplier who i buy fresh prime beef from Spring and Fall...Being a regular cash paying customer he gives me great deals along with exceptional service ..Yes i am a Meat eater. fist in the air Meat eater....i never buy pork because it doesnt agree with me ...I do however buy lots of chicken ..suppliers of poultry locally really does not exist so relying on the store to get what i need...
Now I also personally believe if someone chooses to eat what they feel is best for them that it should be left at that ..Recently i was at my store loading up on fruits and vegs end of season fruits were marked down significantly and i was in my glory ...
When i went out to my vehicle i was approached by a lady who was handing out literature which was about red or white meat consumption ..She said she was part of a small group who were anti red or white meat ...I said i am sorry i am not interested .Went to get on my way and she said well i see you have a large cart full of mostly fruits and vegs so i assumed you were vegetarian ....I said no i am not ...and again started on my way ..well she said i dont see any meats in your cart ...I said no you dont because its in my freezer at home..I told her i buy my meats from a seller in NS ..I will never give up my meat for anything .
***You have your beliefs I have my beliefs ..you choose to not eat meats I choose to eat meats...this is the way it should be i do not believe people should try to push their choices on anyone ...if I chose to become a Vegan or not it should be not at question...I have never felt healthier and i personally believe it is because of my diet ...My doctor put me on a specific diet and its working for me ,, i dont push it on anyone...

I look at this way. If we weren't meant to eat meat. We would not have any canine teeth at all. Just my two cents.

I think a good balanced diet includes meat, but I believe it's each persons personal choice to make, not someone else. you rock lady.

i agree but depending on what that balanced diet is ...I am fighting phantom pain from a leg that is not there now so for me to eat allot of carbs that boil down to sugars its not possible besides balanced does not include junk or man made products ..which is not ideal .we are so tempted every day to eat the wrong things lol

From one meat eater to another, I am tired of people telling us what we should and should not eat , drink, and what size. Do not give up your meat, your guns, your straws, your way of having sex, your lifestyle, or anything else. If you want to listen to any of the "give up crew", listen to them about giving up smoking. I don't regret giving up that one. But leave my diet coke alone.

lol agree with that i gave up smoking about 20 years ago and i do not regret that for numerous reasons and people should be within their rights as adults to make up their own minds with their diet or any type of lifestyle that suits them personally ..I am an individual adult and it works for me...thanx

A few more jokes I've seen around on the matter:

"Vegetarian" is another word for "lousy hunter".

"I didn't crawl my way to the top of the food chain to eat rabbit food; I crawled my way to the top to eat THAT rabbit."

"If we're *not supposed to eat cattle*, how come they're made of meat?"

I've noticed that my grandparents, great grandparents, and farther back in the tree, ate whatever they wanted, also smoked and drank, moderately exercised, had little to no heath care like we have now, and still lived well into their mid-to-late 90s! Oh, for a time machine!

Well, fast food wasn't around on every bloody corner like it is much today, nor were microwaves, or the need to put preservatives into the food to extent the shelf life. The few times I've been able to afford free-range chicken or eggs, meat, and veggies that came straight from a farm to the selling point? Yeah, very tasty and I've noticed that I *feel better*. That one day of natural food eating, I did notice the difference. Sad that it's generally priced higher than what you regularly get at the supermarket...

I love fish, and if I could afford to do such, I'd be eating it two-three times a week. But I'm also concerned with what is going into the oceans where those fish live and have been caught, so there's that.

I do too my diest has to include meat as well as many other things such as fish and chicken i do eat chicken 4 times a week in one way or another beef as i can I have ordered another 100-130 pounds of beef for winter and i eat vegs more fruit than vegs but it is my preference ...vegans do lose sight of the bigger picture after awhile they start out ok but soon get more agressive as people tend to ignore them..people do ignore them for a good reason..we dont all want to eat only leafy greens every day ...lol

seems the way of the world anymore. A person can not do anything anymore without someone coming up to them and saying you should be in their cause. Leave me alone and respect my privacy and wishes not to converse with you. I think you did a great job.

I prefer wild meat: deer, elk. moose, duck, goose, fish of many species, etc. After that I will eat some processed meat. I also include fruits and vegetables in my diet. Perhaps we should just eat what we want.
