Less is more? Maybe

I was recently reading an article online about how studies found people who are gullible and believe stories written or told are determined to be less intelligent than those who do not believe everything they read or are told..The article was not written just one person and the names were not disclosed..But according to several Professors at unnamed Universities did out of class extra curricular activity of students who volunteered their time to further the study and participate in said study .Over the course of a month 200 students were chosen and those students were from different stages of intelligence ( some having higher grades and IQ'S and the rest on average learning skills)
The setting was in a nearby open forum. The students were all given 10 stories each and the idea was to determine from key words in the stories whether they were actually real or not..The students were not aware of the actual stories surrounding events or occurrences if they were real or not..When. The highest of failures 48% were the students who had higher than normal intelligence , they could not pick the key words out of the stories and say whether they were believable or not..Most of the rest just guessed .
Pick on this : It this study believable or not..Who has the freaking time to do this ? Even on spare time outside of the classrooms who would want to volunteer their time to any study that would put them in a lower class of intelligence? Lol I know i am not overly smart but i dont waste time on nonsense that makes me look dumber ...

maybe i should have omitted the first attempted joke of "i dont believe it, etc"
and just led with the main joke -

like the star trek episode "i, mudd",
where they have to try to outwit the android army -
kirk - "everything he (spock) says is a lie -
spock - "i am lying"
.

its amazing what an onslaught of "info" there is,
theres no such thing anymore as "two sides to every story",
its more like 5, 10, 15, who knows how many?
whos to know whats true anymore? at least on the net.

whats a shame it is weve somehow come to believe its right
to not just disagree, but to insult, degrade and eventually hate,
those who dont agree with your choice of which version is "right".

is it from russian meddling, flooding our internet with millions of blogs that begin seemingly innocent enough espousing any one view, picked at random, and gradually twisting it into hate speech?

or is it still a legacy of 9/11, when we all came to believe it was right
to hate "certain" people ("bomb them all, kill them all")?
and in the almost 20 years since, weve come to accept then hating
first someone else, then another someone else, and eventually anyone and everyone who you disagree with?

sometimes it seems as if we are our own worst enemy,
and the internet, despite all the good it has facilitated,
is our greatest tool of mass destruction.

as least well have jokes as we destroy each other and ourselves . . .

lol maybe but i am not that picky i just am on here to write blogs and chat not interested in meeting anyone ..have met someone and we are doing great..As on of the Ambassadors for the site i get a great sum of points for any number of things i participate in so its a bonus for me to rack up enough to either add gold or add the feature that allows standard members to chat with me as i have acquaintances all over the world ..thanks

As a professor, usually students are compensated in some manner. Money or gift card to get participation. I participated in some seemingly stupid studies in grade school for extra cash. Students are not told the criteria of their selection, and never see the results. They usually never know what is all about.
